Job purpose:

As user support Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day IT and User Support Engineer infrastructure operations, ensuring the efficient use of office applications, hardware, and other IT resources. Your expertise will help maintain the reliability and security of our IT equipment and systems.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • User Support: Provide technical support for servers and networks through the Company help/service desk. Diagnose and resolve system problems, ensuring all support requests are logged and addressed within agreed timeframes.
  • Application Management: Perform daily checks on critical IT systems to ensure their operational status. Install, upgrade, and administer servers, maintain system patches, and complete backups as per documented processes. Manage new user accounts and permissions.
  • Network Management: Install, configure, monitor, and maintain network hardware and software components. Troubleshoot basic network issues and ensure optimal network performance.
  • Asset Management: Maintain an updated record of software licenses, hardware, and support agreements. Conduct yearly inventory checks and assist with budget updates.
  • Procurement: Manage purchases and related documentation, including vendor quotations and purchase orders, following company procedures.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with project managers to provide feedback, plan tasks, and coordinate project resources.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computing, Networking, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in infrastructure support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems, Cisco, VMware, network administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
