Trainee Ship Agent - GAC Denmark

Due to increased demand for ship agency services in Denmark and GAC’s commitment to develop tomorrow’s talents today, we are looking to fill two full-time vacancies for Ship Agent Trainees at our offices in Esbjerg and Kalundborg. The positions are two-year contracts consisting primarily of hands-on training at the office and include seven weeks on site at Rybners in Esbjerg. Learn more about the course here and here.

Daily tasks

• Documentation and clearance of ships on arrival and departure
• Communication with all parties involved with ships’ port calls
• Coordination of services
• Assisting the logistics department with warehousing and other tasks
• Providing input to aid the continuous improvement of processes and procedures
• Miscellaneous administrative tasks such as invoicing for services provided

Other job details

• Most tasks can be completed during regular work hours. However, as we provide a 24/7/365 service, there will be busier periods requiring you to work outside of normal hours, especially during the summer season.
• We provide services to vessels during port calls at ports throughout Denmark. The responsibilities may include a significant amount of travel to other ports in your region.

Desired qualifications

• HHX, EUS or EUX
• Excellent written and verbal skills in Danish and English
• Driver’s license
• Maritime experience an advantage
