GAC Abu Dhabi is seeking candidates for the position of Shipping Coordinator at our GT Office in Abu Dhabi.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will maintain proper coordination with principals, vessel masters, port operations staff, cargo receivers and suppliers to ensure the smooth turnaround of vessels.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1.            Communications with principals/terminals/companies/port authorities.

  2.            Arranging advance payment of port charges to terminal operators/port authority for vessel berthing.

  3.            Sending Proforma disbursement to principals/follow-up receipt of remittance.

  4.            Receiving cargo documents from principals and distributing them to D/O clerks, cargo supervisors/port departments.

  5.            Handling of ships of spares, cash advance, mail, crew changes, crew medical, etc.

  6.            Updating appropriate operational supporting register and application.

  7.            Coordination with branch offices as and when necessary.

Job requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

·         Valid UAE driving license.

·         Clear and proactive thinking, ability to work under pressure, manage section staff, leadership skills and a teamwork mindset.

·         Fluent in written and spoken English.

·         Desired knowledge of written and spoken Arabic.

·         Email, MS Word, Excel, internet, and Internal software applications.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

·         Highschool or Diploma

·         Fresher / 1 – 2 years’ experience

·         Previous experience in admin / account’s role preferred.
