Role: Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer / IT Manager

Location: Piraeus, Greece (with presence in Thessaloniki & Athens International Airport – Eleftherios Venizelos)

As a leading provider of logistics, shipping and marine services, we are looking for the right person to join the GAC team in Greece as a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer/IT Manager, to take full ownership of our IT environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, security and continuous improvement of our IT systems, both directly hands-on and by effectively coordinating external partners for specialized services or projects.

The Job:

• Full ownership of the company’s IT infrastructure

• Administration and maintenance of servers, storage systems and virtualization environments

• Management of Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and user access controls

• End-user support and troubleshooting of technical issues

• Management of network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, VPNs)

• Monitoring and enhancement of cybersecurity measures and backup systems

• Planning and implementation of IT projects

• Coordination of external IT vendors and service providers

• Ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery readiness

What are we looking for?

• 5–8+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure / System Administration

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365

• Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMware)

• Solid understanding of networking (firewalls, VLANs, routing, VPN)

• Experience with backup solutions and monitoring tools

• Ability to independently manage and own an IT environment

• Relevant certifications

• Experience in IT security
