Senior Business Development Manager - Cargo

Location: Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya

The Role
This role demands strong market knowledge, customer focus and the ability to turn opportunities in meaningful business. If appointed, you will lead the sales drive for our logistics services by identifying, developing and growing opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively acquiring, developing and managing new customers for logistics services, including Sea Freight, Air Freight, Road Freight, and Oil & Gas (Energy) logistics solutions.

  • Achieving and exceeding sales targets and business development KPIs.

  • Building, maintaining and strengthening relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.

  • Identifying and executing upselling and cross-selling opportunities.

  • Developing and implementing strategic sales plans to maximize revenue and leverage internal resources.  

  • Preparing and presenting commercial proposals, tenders, and quotations.

  • Collaborating with operations and internal teams to ensure seamless service.

 
Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in sea, air, and road freight forwarding.

Job requirements

What we’re looking for

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, minimum Diploma in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related disciplines.

  • At least 7 years’ experience in Business Development or Sales, ideally in logistics or freight forwarding.

  • Proven track record of strong performance and measurable achievements

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong results-driven and target-oriented commercial mindset

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to translate market insights into actionable sales strategies

  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High level of professionalism, integrity and resilience
