About the Role

GAC North America is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to lead our general ledger activities, support financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and partner closely with cross-functional teams. This role requires strong analytical skills, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger & Accounting Operations

  • Manage and maintain all general ledger (GL) accounts.

  • Ensure accuracy through proper application of accrual and matching principles.

  • Work closely with AP and AR teams to maintain accurate financial records.

  • Develop and implement internal controls in alignment with group requirements.

  • Review GL postings regularly for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

  • Provide assistance to AP/AR teams as needed.

Financial Closing & Reporting

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

  • Ensure proper accruals, prepaids, and documentation are recorded.

  • Reconcile income between operational and accounting systems.

  • Assist the CFO in completing timely financial and non-financial reporting.

Job Accounts, Audit & Tax Support

  • Monitor job account status to ensure KPIs for open jobs are met.

  • Guide operations and billing teams on job closure requirements.

  • Investigate unusual entries and report findings to the CFO.

  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.

  • Prepare detailed tax calculation workings.

  • Support system improvements and implementation projects.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide financial support and guidance to business units (Shipping & Logistics).

  • Coordinate AP, AR, and Billing teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and KPIs.

  • Assist the CFO with company-wide matters as needed.

  • Participate in internal control development and implementation projects.
