GAC UK are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager – Marine and Terminal Services to oversee the South West region. 


The Key responsibilities are:

  • To monitor shipping and ensure adequate staffing is in place to cover all mooring and jetty work
  • Produce procedures and risk assessments which should be reviewed regularly and in line with company policy
  • Perform audits and competency checks on staff to ensure compliance
  • Complete all mooring and jetty work within Eastham Dock or as required by the company
  • To provide cover for operations supervisor in the management of jetty planning and staff utilization to ensure
  • To work within agreed budgets and ensure all invoicing is accurate and completed in a timely manner
  • To Lead customer review meetings and ensuring KPI targets are met
  • To Drive business development in the local area

Job requirements

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in this field of work with staff management experience and/or terminal management. It would be advantageous to hold an OOW and/or STCW as well as NEBOSH or IOSH certification. They must have strong communication and organisational skills; be able to multitask and prioritise; be able to produce and maintain accurate documents; have a good understanding and appreciation of a proactive safety culture and have experience using Microsoft Office products. A full driving licence and car is also required.
