Operations Manager – Ship Agency
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
Are you a hands-on, results-driven shipping professional seeking the next step in your career? This could be your chance to join us as Operations Manager to lead and control ship agency operations across Indonesian ports for PT Andhika GAC.
If appointed, you will :
· Oversee and control daily ship agency operations to ensure smooth vessel arrival, stay, and departure.
· Ensure 24/7 operational readiness and support, including weekends and public holidays.
· Coordinate vessel clearance with port authorities, terminals, and relevant stakeholders.
· Act as the main operational contact for principals and clients, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
· Lead, supervise, and develop the operations team, including manpower planning and performance monitoring.
· Ensure adherence to company SOPs and HSSE standards.
· Monitor operational costs, proforma DA, and final DA accuracy.
· Manage and evaluate service providers to ensure service quality and compliance.
· Ensure compliance with local regulations, company SOPs, and HSSE requirements.
· Identify operational risks, handle issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
· Prepare operational reports and KPIs for management review.
· Support Management in business expansion and development.
· Ship agency operations including and not limited to Tankers, Dry Cargo, Cruise, Projects, Navy, P&I, Husbandry activities.
Job requirements
What we’re looking for
· Strong maritime operational knowledge and experience with in-depth understanding of port operations, vessel clearance and local regulations in Indonesia.
· Proven leadership capabilities, to lead teams, manage duty rosters and make decisions under pressure.
· Ability to manage 24/7 operations while maintaining high service standards, compliance and cost efficiency.
· Client-focused and solution-oriented attitude, able to manage principals’ expectations and effectively resolve operational issues.
· Excellent coordination skills to work with port authorities, terminals, and multiple service providers.
· Good understanding of operational cost control, PDA/FDA, and vendor management.
· Cost-conscious and detail-oriented approach, especially in managing PDA/FDA accuracy and operational expenses.
· Good leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and develop operations teams.
· Strong coordination and problem-solving skills in handling operational issues.
· High integrity and compliance awareness, with strong HSSE and risk management focus.
· Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa (spoken and written).
· Proficiency in MS Office and operational reporting systems.
Qualifications & experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping Management, Logistics, or a related field.
· At least 7 years’ experience in ship agency or maritime operations, 5 years of which in a supervisory or managerial role.
· Proven experience managing 24/7 operations, including weekends and public holidays.
