Operations Manager

 

Location: Doha, Qatar

 

We are looking for the right person to join the GAC Marine team as an Operations Manager. Could it be you?

If appointed, you will oversee daily operations of the Qatar‑based vessels for GAC Marine LLC. You will act as the key liaison between the vessels and the organization, ensuring safety, certifications and regulatory compliance. The role also promotes continuous improvement in safety practices, coordinates with fleet and technical teams on maintenance and repairs, and provides the primary point of contact for all client and customer inquiries related to the fleet.

The Job

 

  • Operational Management – Oversee the day-to-day operations of marine vessels. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.

  • Safety and Compliance – Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments. Ensure vessels are compliant with international maritime laws and company standards. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

  • Crew Management – Supervise marine crew activities and performance. Coordinate crew changes and activities with crew management and support with local requirements.

  • Maintenance and Performance – Monitor vessel performance and maintenance schedules. Liaise with engineering teams for repairs and upgrades. Review maintenance reports and recommend improvements.

  • Contract Execution – Planning and coordinating all craft movements and to ensure craft compliance for contracts executed by the company.

  • Customer Engagement - Ensure vessels are fully ready and capable of fulfilling customers’ requirements. Liaison with customers on operational issues and focal point for customer complaints.

  • Operational Compliance - Ensure vessels are fully certified to class and local/international legislation requirements and are compliant with the legislation in the area of operation, including flag state requirements in place.

 

Job requirements

What we’re looking for?

  • Marine Engineering Certificate

  • MUST be an experienced Master

  • At least 3 years as Marine Manager or Marine Superintendent

  • Marine management experience of towage fleet and crew boats

  • Experience in offshore with the same vessel type or fleet – AHTS towage.
