GAC UK is looking for candidates for the role of Operations Coordinator – Marine Leisure & Events, to be based in Southampton. Could it be you?

We deliver a wide range of integrated shipping, logistics and marine services to the energy and shipping industries. We also serve specialised sectors like marine leisure, sports and events, automotive and aviation, providing complex and time-critical logistics solutions. We are currently recruiting for an Operations Coordinator – Marine Leisure & Events to be based at our Southampton office. 

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Managing the end-to-end operational process of shipments

• Liaising with suppliers and service providers

• Liaising with customers, agents and partners

• Problem solving and critical thinking to optimise service delivery

• Sourcing, negotiating and quoting rates

Job requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working within a freight forwarding role

• Experience across air, sea, and road freight is preferable

• Customs clearance knowledge/experience required • Strong communication and organisational skills 

• Be able to produce and maintain accurate documents

• Diligently follow defined processes

• Experience in using Microsoft office products

• A desire to improve services offered to customers by analysing performance and reviewing suppliers 

• Experience working to tight deadlines 

• Experience working on site during build / break of an event (desirable but not essential)
