Operations Coordinator

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an Operations Coordinator to join our GML (GAC Marine Logistics) team. The role will ideally be based in our London Heathrow office, however we are open to the possibility of the candidate being located at another GAC office within the UK.

GAC UK employs over 300 experts across more than 25offices covering all of the UK, Ireland and Gibraltar. We deliver a wide range of integrated shipping, logistics and marine services to the energy and shipping industries. We also serve specialised sectors like marine leisure, sports and events, automotive and aviation, providing complex and time-critical logistics solutions. We apply the highest standard of customer services to everything we do and aim to be industry leaders within all the sectors we serve.

Key responsibilities:

  • Moving ship spares globally is a key component of this role
  • Managing stock on behalf of the clients
  • Submitting quotes and releasing shipments as per the client’s instructions globally
  • Invoicing and completing administrative tasks on files
  • Handling other tasks as assigned by the management

Job requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • strong communication and organisational skills
  • ability to multitask and prioritise
  • good analytical skills
  • ability to work under pressure and meet regular deadlines with limited supervision.
  • ability to produce and maintain accurate documents
  • good understanding and appreciation of a proactive safety culture
  • intermediate or advanced skills in using Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel

Experience in a similar role or working within a fast-paced environment, preferably within Freight Forwarding is preferred but not essential.
