Job description
GAC North America is looking for a smart and energetic Shipping Operations Coordinator. The job role includes:
- Ensure timely & accurate and effective management of services & supplies to the vessel as required by Principals.
- Well-versed with Operational Software and timely and accurate entries, including job opening and closing.
- Proactive and effective communication with internal and external clients & colleagues. (Continuous communication with all involved parties; General cargo vessel operation coordination & updating the manifest Import /Export - ODS /GACAGENT system; Delivery to stevedore notification)
- Establish good communication with GAC Suppliers, and negotiate to obtain the best rates and cost-effective service solutions.
- Ensure timely closing of job files, timely submission of PDA, invoicing, and make sure all due payments are recovered.
- Monitor / route and action emails throughout the day to ensure timely response. Follow KPI’s.
- Serve as a role model in upholding the GAC Code of Ethics, Compliance, QHSSE Policies, and GAC Spirit.
Job requirements
Educational Qualification:
High School Diploma or above.
Specialist Knowledge
Familiarity with international shipping operations ( Bulk vessel, Roro vessel ) shipping regulations, customs procedures, and documentation.
Computer Aptitude
Comfortable using various software tools, including Microsoft Office, shipping management systems, and possibly Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
Experience Levels
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shipping operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
