Role: Operations Clerk

Location: Hong Kong

Could you be our new Operations Clerk, based in Hong Kong?

  • Reporting to: Operations Manager

  • Department / Team: Logistics

  • Employment Type: Full Time

 

What would your day at GAC look like?

  • Independently liaising with agents/customers for instructions by email / telephone / other communication means

  • Handling a full set of air/ocean freight export/import processes, coordinating with relevant parties (sub-contractors, carriers, customer and agents) for cargo pickup, delivery, cost estimation.

  • Building/maintaining strong contacts with suppliers / terminals / carriers.

  • Communicating effectively with commercial teams, operation teams, and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements, and service commitments.

  • Validating, and analyzing rates, in liaison with local and overseas stations and co-loaders to obtain quotations, verify rate structures, and confirm capacity commitments.

  • Preparing and issuing freight invoices to agents and clients in a timely manner.

  • Tracking shipment status and providing timely follow up.

  • Performing data entry and maintaining proper document filing.

 

Work Location : Landmark East, AIA Kowloon Tower, Kwun Tong, Hong Kong

Job requirements

What are we looking for?

  1. Education: Form 5 or above

  2. Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in operation and working in freight forwarding

  3. Knowledge in handling dangerous goods (DG) cargo is preferred.

  4. Proficiency in MS office applications.

  5. Soft skills: Pro-active, a good team player, well-organised, strong communication & interpersonal skills.

  6. Fluency in Chinese and English (Cantonese, Mandarin & English, spoken & written).
