Job Description

The role includes delivering complete customs clearance solutions to customers, ensuring timely deliveries and exceptional service by ensuring the smooth clearance and delivery of shipments (personal effects) for both residential and corporate customers. The successful candidate will coordinate shipments, arrange inspections of export cargo, obtain government approvals, plan and schedule related activities, ensure accuracy of documentation, and coordinate with the airport office, shipping lines, airlines, DNATA and other relevant entities. The job also involves overseeing and following up on customs deposits and ensuring that accurate billing instructions are provided to the billing department.

Key Responsibilities

1.       Coordinate and ensure the smooth operation of air, sea, and road shipments.

2.       Arrange inspection and supervision for export cargo (personal effects).

3.       Plan and schedule delivery order (DO) collection, customs clearance, and delivery for import shipments, including offloading, cargo collection, customs inspection, and collection of AWBs, Bills of Lading, and Airway Bills for export shipments.

4.       Monitor the entire clearance process and ensure timely delivery of shipments.

5.       Verify the accuracy of documents for clearance purposes, open jobs, and process them as per customer requirements (import, export, transit, etc.).

6.       Coordinate with the Airport Office for the clearance and delivery of airfreight shipments.

7.       Arrange approvals from the Municipality for all items requiring Ministry clearance prior to customs processing.

8.       Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, DNATA, DPA, customs authorities, and transporters.

9.       Monitor and control customs deposits and duties and follow up on refund processes.

10.   Enter all billing instructions into the respective job files and hand them over to the billing department.

Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent (Higher Secondary School).

2. UAE driving license preferred.

3. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

4. Excellent communication skills in English.

5. Strong computer literacy, with solid experience using MS Office packages.

6. Robust industry background with hands-on experience in customs clearance and logistics, including cargo operations (export/import), warehousing, claims handling, distribution and product knowledge.
