Marine Representative / Ship Agent

Are you an experienced shipping professional with strong operational knowledge and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service? If so, you could be the person we’re looking for to join our team in Walvis Bay.

As a Marine Representative / Ship Agent, you will be responsible for coordinating vessel operations, ensuring smooth port activities, and managing all agency‑related requirements for vessels calling at Walvis Bay. You will liaise with port authorities, service providers, principals, and vessel crew to ensure efficient, compliant, and timely service delivery.

Duties will include:

·       Coordinating all operational aspects of vessel port calls from pre‑arrival to post‑departure.

·       Managing documentation, clearances, and communication with principals and stakeholders.

·       Liaising with port authorities, terminals, vendors, and vessel crew.

·       Handling cargo operations, bunkering, IPL/OPL calls, and Oil & Gas/Energy project vessels.

·       Ensuring efficient turnaround and smooth operational execution for all assigned vessels.

·       Maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring consistent service excellence.

·       Providing accurate and timely updates to principals and internal teams.

What we’re looking for:

·       Minimum 5 years’ ships agency experience, with strong knowledge of port and vessel operations.

·       Experience handling diverse cargo types, bunkers, IPL/OPL calls, and Oil & Gas/Energy projects.

·       Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently at all levels.

·       Customer‑focused mentality with the ability to work under pressure.

·       Above‑average written and verbal communication skills in English.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Skills & Qualifications

·       Educational Qualification: Minimum Grade 12

·       Professional Qualification: Not required, but shipping‑related qualifications will be an advantage
