About GAC Marine LLC

GAC Marine operates from our fully equipped marine base in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Our comprehensive offshore marine support includes anchor handling, project cargo transportation, platform supply, crew changes and supplies, as well as rig moves and tug & barge operations. Operations are supported by our growing fleet of anchor handling tug supply vessels, anchor handling tugs, crew boats, tow tugs, barges, utility vessels and landing craft.

Our expert crew, maintenance and other land-based staff are at hand to facilitate short turn-around times for class surveys, repairs, and maintenance.

GAC Marine is looking for the right people to join our team in several Manager, Marine Operations roles we are now resourcing to be based at our Abu Dhabi marine base. The Manager Marine Operations is accountable for Monitoring the day-to-day operations of the vessels. To liaise and act as the focal point between the ships and the organization and monitor all aspects of safety, certifications and regulatory requirements.

Job Description

  • Operational Management. Oversee the day-to-day operations of marine vessels. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
  • Safety and Compliance. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments. Ensure vessels are compliant with international maritime laws and company standards. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Crew Management: Supervise marine crew activities and performance. Coordinate crew training and development programs.
  • Budgeting and Reporting: Assist in budgeting and cost management for marine operations. Prepare regular reports on operational performance and safety metrics. Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Contract execution. Planning and coordinating all craft movements and to ensure craft compliance for contracts executed by the company.
  • Customer Engagement. Ensure that vessels are in full readiness and capable of fulfilling customers’ requirements. Liaison with customers on operational issues and focal point for customer complaints.
  • Operational Compliance. Ensure that vessels are fully certified to class and local/international legislation requirement and are compliant with the legislative requirement to the particular area of operation. Including flag state requirements being in place

Job requirements

  • Educational Qualification - Marine related bachelor's degree
  • Professional Qualification - Must be an experienced Master and have at least 3 years as Marine Manager or Marine Superintendent
  • Specialist Knowledge Marine management experience of towage fleet and crew boats
  • Communication / Language English – Fluent in reading & writing.
  • Thorough knowledge of window-based software (i.e. MS. Office Suite), including preparation of reports / statistics etc.
  • Detailed Experience Levels 3 – 4 years’ experience in same or similar role
  • Leadership and values driven
