About the job

The IT Governance Specialist plays a crucial role in strengthening the relationship between IT and GAC Group companies, transforming IT into a strategic partner for business development and execution. This position will drive best practices, frameworks, tools and internal audits to enhance Group IT's capabilities while training teams to effectively apply these processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Design infrastructure, methods and standards for IT-related decisions that align with business objectives.
  • Assess IT department performance against KPIs and oversee service delivery and project execution.
  • Ensure adherence to regulations such as GDPR and ISO 27001. Scrutinise contracts and data management practices to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Create and deliver training programmes to enhance staff awareness of IT governance policies and foster a culture of compliance.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and implementing corrective actions based on findings.
  • Regularly review and enhance the IT governance framework in response to changes in business needs, technology and regulations.

Job requirements

Technical Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field from an internationally recognised university.
  • Certifications: CISA/CISM with ISO 27001:2022 Lead Auditor qualification would be given preference.
  • Professional Qualification: Expert proficiency in various SDLC frameworks and digital tools.
  • Specialist Knowledge: Skills in facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Communication: Effective communication across all levels; cultural awareness in a multi-cultural corporate environment. Proficiency in English is essential.
  • Computer Aptitude: Understanding of IT architecture, development, and infrastructure; experience with Agile tools and frameworks, particularly Jira.
