About the job
The successful candidate will join the GAC Group’s Information Management team whose mission is to introduce a set of policies, processes, organisational changes and technologies to optimise and automate ways to identify, create, collect, classify, organise, govern, secure, use, exchange, maintain, preserve and dispose of information. The primary goal is the management of products and teams related Information Governance, including master data management, data quality management, metadata management and data governance, to enable and support the goals & priorities set by our Group’s business leaders.
Key Responsibilities
· Management responsibility for products in the area of Information Governance.
· Develop productive relationships with business leaders across the organisation to influence how Information Governance products can enable new sources of value.
· Manage staff in the area of Information Governance, developing their skills and capabilities to meet the needs of the organisation, as well as building on existing recruiting capabilities to address new needs and skills gaps.
· Provide leadership, vision, and direction (in partnership with Group business leaders) in developing products related to Information Governance to ensure it contributes to achieving strategic goals in line with the digital product line roadmap.
· Responsible to act as Product Manager for Information Governance on strategic & BAU digital transformation products & projects.
· Lead the effort in governing data and information across GAC Group to enable decision-making on all levels of management by giving business users and customers timely access to accurate and trustworthy data and reports.
· Lead the effort to educate and train business users on the importance of information governance and how everyone can contribute to support it in their daily working lives.
· Manage products and teams related to master & reference data management, including data consolidation, matching & merging, approval workflows and tasks, managing relationships & hierarchies, and other MDM related activities.
· Manage products and teams to enable management of information governance policies, monitoring compliance, data ownership and stewardship, and change management related to Information Governance.
Job requirements
Technical Knowledge
5+ years of experience of product management in the area of Information Governance
2+ years of managing product development teams
Educational Qualification: An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in data science, computer science, engineering, or similar knowledge
Professional Qualification:
Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
Excellent product management skills.
Experience in gathering, analysing, and prioritising business requirements.
Willing and able to take initiative and ownership in solving business problems.
Experience in leading product development teams.
Experience in mentoring, educating and training business users in the area of Information Governance.
Experience of managing in an organisation primarily using agile development methodologies.
Specialist Knowledge:
Expert knowledge of MDM, DQM, metadata management, data governance concepts and proven methodologies in the field.
Experience in analysing and documenting business rules and processes in the area of MDM, DQM, metadata management and data governance.
Practical experience in implementing technical solutions in the area of MDM, DQM, metadata management and data governance based on well-known technology platforms such as Informatica.
Communication:
Communicate effectively across all levels, engaging and inspiring at senior levels internally and externally.
Stakeholder management skills.
Presentation skills.
Cultural awareness within a multi-cultural corporate environment.
Good English spoken language skills are essential.
Computer Aptitude:
Excellent understanding of IT (Architecture, Development, Infrastructure, DevOps)
MS Office: MS Word / MS Excel / MS PowerPoint
MS Visio or other modelling tools.
