GAC Group (Holdings) Limited is looking for candidates for the role of Group Accounting & Internal Control, Assistant Manager to be based in Jebel Ali, Dubai. Could it be you?

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous individual to join our team at GAC corporate headquarters as the Group Accounting & Internal Control Assistant Manager. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting and internal control processes.

  • Review the quarterly and year-end Group Reporting Packages (GRPs) received from over 100 legal entities and used in the consolidation and preparation of GAC Group's quarterly and year-end statutory financial statements.
  • Assist the Group Accounting & Internal Control Manager in the year-end consolidation process, including liaising with the Group external auditors and ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Prepare GAC Group's quarterly consolidation and condensed statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Contribute to the annual update of the legal/statutory manual to reflect any process changes.
  • Conduct on-site internal audits to verify adherence to financial controls as defined in GAC Group's GFIC framework.
  • Serve as the system administrator for the consolidation software, AARO and AARO Lease, used by GAC Group.

Job requirements

Educational Qualification:

  • University degree in Business Administration with specialisation in Accounting and Finance.

Professional Qualification:

  • Chartered Accountant/CPA/ACCA.

Specialist Knowledge:

  • Ability to consolidate medium to large international group of companies.
  • Extensive working knowledge of IFRS.
  • Knowledge of shipping and/or logistics industry (preferred).

Communication / Language:

  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written – specifically to write internal audit reports).

Computer Aptitude:

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and consolidation software applications.

Detailed Experience Levels:

  • 3-5 years’ experience with a Big-4/reputable audit firm.
