Role: Freight Forwarder/Logistics Coordinator

As we centralise our operations at our head office in Bergen, GAC Norway is looking for an experienced Freight Forwarder to join our team in a permanent, full-time position. This is an opportunity to be part of a strong operational environment where you will work closely with experienced colleagues, management, and teams across the organisation. Based in Bergen, you will have a central role in coordinating freight forwarding activities, contributing to smart logistics solutions, and supporting the high level of service our customers expect from GAC.

Could you be our new Freight Forwarder?

  • Location: Bergen office.

  • Reporting to: Segment Operational Lead

  • Department / team: Logistics

  • Employment Type: Fulltime, Permanent

  • Travel requirements: Minimal

 

What would your day at GAC look like?

  • Managing quoting, booking, follow-up and invoicing for air, sea, courier and road freight, including project shipments

  • Developing tailored logistics solutions based on customer needs, shipment requirements and available transport options

  • Ensuring shipments meet relevant country requirements, including correct documentation and compliance throughout the transport process

  • Maintaining close contact with customers, suppliers and partners, including representing GAC in operational meetings

  • Monitoring customs processes and coordinating with relevant parties to ensure smooth clearance

  • Coordinating with overseas offices, network partners and external agents to arrange efficient logistics services

  • Contributing to continuous improvement of operational routines, collaboration and service delivery

Job requirements

What are we looking for?

  • Education: Relevant education in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, transport, business, or similar is an advantage, but relevant experience may compensate for formal education

  • Experience: Solid experience from freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or transport, preferably within international shipments, project logistics, energy, or marine segments

  • Technical Skills: Good working knowledge of Microsoft365 and comfortable working with data to follow up shipments, identify deviations, and support operational decisions

  • Language: English is a requirement; Norwegian may be an advantage

  • Structured and organised, with the ability to keep overview of several shipments, deadlines, and stakeholders

  • Solution-oriented and responsible, with the ability to follow tasks through and contribute to improvements

  • Customer-focused, with genuine interest in understanding customer needs and delivering good service

  • Clear communicator who works well with customers, suppliers, colleagues, and management

  • Able to stay calm, prioritise, and collaborate constructively when plans change or urgent situations arise

  • Collaborative and improvement-minded, with a willingness to share knowledge and strengthen routines across the team
