Customs Clearance Representative at GAC

We are seeking a Customs Clearance Representative to join our Logistics department at GAC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely clearance of goods through customs processes.

Your main duties will include coordinating with customs officials, preparing and submitting documentation, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth flow of goods in and out of the country.

Job Description

• Assist in delivery/collection of documents and smart cards.

• Ensure accuracy of Bills of Lading, Delivery Orders and all documents delivered to/collected from shipping lines/OAS.

• Conduct daily reconciliation of petty cash, IOUs and receipts and ensure there are no discrepancies and pending accounts.

• Respond to documentary queries posed by lines, customs officials and customers.

• Submit customs documents daily on time.

• Coordinate with customs and port/airport authorities to process documents and establish good rapport for smooth operations.

• Assist in customs inspections and any other relevant tasks.

• Survey loading of shipments onto trucks and report any damages.

Job Requirements for Customs Clearance Representative at GAC

To be considered for the role of Customs Clearance Representative at GAC in the Logistics department, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in customs clearance procedures

• Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and customs documentation

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team

• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

• Proficiency in relevant computer applications

• University graduate in any stream; graduates from commerce, logistics or maritime college are preferred.

• Valid Oman driving license/customs license (can be procured on the job).

• Knowledge of Oman customs laws and regulations.

• Proficient in English and Arabic (written and verbal).

• Proficient in MS Office and Outlook; possess good data entry skills.

• 0 -1 year experience in a Airport operations / Clearing & Forwarding.

• Omani National.

• Good work ethics and able to comply with policies and procedures of the company.

• Possess cultural awareness for working with people from various cultures and backgrounds.
