Job description

GAC UK are looking for a Buyer to join the Procurement and Purchasing team in Grangemouth.


GAC UK employs over 300 experts across more than 25 offices covering all of the UK, Ireland and Gibraltar. We deliver a wide range of integrated shipping, logistics and marine services to the energy and shipping industries. We also serve specialised sectors like marine leisure, sports and events, automotive and aviation, providing complex and time-critical logistics solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and manage procurement documentation, purchase orders and order confirmations to support operational efficiency and compliance

  • Conduct market research to identify and evaluate suppliers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness and compliance

  • Support negotiations with vendors and suppliers to optimise procurement outcomes

  • Maintain accurate records for transparency, accountability and audit readiness

  • Collaborate with teams across the business to align procurement needs and processes

  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance and purchasing trends

Job requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Basic understanding of procurement best practices and methodologies

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, teamwork and attention to detail skills

  • Experience with Word, Excel, Dolphin, Eye Share, and reporting/data analysis tools is a plus
