Job description
Attract new clients, this includes creating plans to achieve sales targets (Revenue goals and new client acquisitions) set by the company.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients. This involves regular communication through phone calls, emails and face-to-face meetings to understand their needs and provide tailored logistics solutions.
Handle client inquiries, address complaints and ensure customer satisfaction through the logistics process.
Work closely with the operations team to ensure the smooth execution of logistics services.
Negotiate contracts and prices with clients and vendors to ensure profitable deals while meeting customers' requirements.
Keep details record of sales activities & client interaction.
Analyse market trends and competitors' activities to stay ahead in the industries.
Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders in GML management team including Managing Director, Freight Services Manager and Group head of Marine Logistics.
Review the performance if strategic plans and evaluate successes, risks and opportunities.
Job requirements
Bachelor's degree in business logistics or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in Business Development, preferably in Shipping or Logistics.
Proven experience in sales and business development, preferably in marine logistics.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Microsoft 365. Expertise in PowerPoint will be an added advantage.
