Job description

GAC URUGUAY is looking for a Boarding Agent - Operations Assistant to join the team.

The candidate must have the ability to manage the workflow in an orderly manner, demonstrating versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

 

Core responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive support for vessels and their stakeholders.

  • Coordinate vessel’s arrivals, operations, services, and departures.

  • Respond to operational inquiries as quickly as possible, ensuring that all parties receive regular updates and responses to all their requests.

  • Issuance of documents: forms, SOF, mate receipts, bills of lading, cargo manifests, and other operational-related documents.

  • Manage the transmission of data via the system to Customs.

  • Regular visits to vessels are required during operations, whether in port or in anchorage areas.

Job requirements

  • With knowledge and experience in shipping agency.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with relevant work experience preferred.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Fluent in both oral and written English.

  • Strong attention to details with good organizational skills.

  • Capable of following up and completing tasks in a timely manner.

  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work under pressure.

  • Able to function self-sufficiently, but also as part of a team.

  • Must possess self-motivation and be able to perform primary job functions unsupervised and in accordance with the GAC Standards.

  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think and respond quickly to customer service issues.

  • As we provide services 24/7, there will be periods of increased workload, so flexible hours and/or working different schedules are required.
