GAC Shipping (India) Private Limited is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Manager – P & I, to be based in Mumbai. Could it be you?

The main purpose of the job is to act as a correspondent for P & I Clubs and their members.

Key Tasks

  • Provide correspondence services to P&I Clubs and their members.

  • Assistance for Inhouse claims

  • Handle medical and death disability compensation matters.

  • Assisting in internal company claims & legal advice to other depts if needed

  • Registration, administration, and handling of claims

  • Invoice management and follow-up

  • Vetting of tenders, contracts and agreements, vendors, legal drafts etc.

Job requirements

Educational requirements:

  1. Any graduate / Law graduate (preferred)

  2. Relevant experience: 4 - 5 yrs with claims handling experience, relevant maritime law & industry knowledge

    Skills and Competencies

  • Functional/Technical Skills - Possess specialist knowledge and skills required to complete tasks and deliver results in area of responsibility and demonstrate an active interest in learning and developing technical skills. Technical knowledge and expertise in the marine services sector

  • Networking - Ability to build professional networks and personal relationships within and outside the company and use them to gather information and resources and ensure employee and company success. PR and interpersonal skills to build contacts and relationships with principals and other stakeholders.

  • Negotiating and influencing - The ability discerns pertinent information and formulate an effective strategy. Present one position on issues to gain support and acceptance from others, explore possible outcomes and solutions that lead to a win-win situation, gain support of stakeholders, colleagues, suppliers, and customers to execute a desired course of action that is consistent with company goals. Negotiation skills to tactfully finalize claims and cases.
