Position: Accountant

Industry: Maritime Agency / Shipping

Location: Argentina (On-site position)

Languages: Spanish & English (Bilingual)

We are seeking a highly motivated Accountant to join our team in Argentina within the maritime agency industry. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, experience with international reporting standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records in compliance with Argentine regulations and company policies.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for group consolidation.

  • Ensure compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS and US GAAP).

  • Manage monthly tax filings and payroll processing in accordance with local legislation.

  • Coordinate and support annual external audits.

  • Maintain effective relationships with clients, suppliers, and banking institutions.

  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes.

  • Ensure timely completion of strict monthly closing deadlines.

  • Work closely with international teams and group finance departments.

  • Assist with financial analysis and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably within shipping, maritime agencies, logistics, or international trade environments.

  • Strong knowledge of Argentine accounting and tax regulations.

  • Experience with IFRS and US GAAP reporting standards.

  • Experience with international financial systems / ERP platforms (non-SAP).

  • Fluent English and Spanish (written and spoken).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work under strict deadlines.
