About the Position

With continued increased activity and healthy business growth, GAC Norway is looking to fill 2 Customs Coordinator positions to support our Customs Department. These positions provide a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of colleagues in the maritime industry in a company that values what each unique individual brings to the table.


The role of a Customs Coordinator requires strong organisational skills as well as the ability to follow routines and to recognise irregularities. We will prioritise candidates with relevant customs experience, but we will also consider candidates with education, experience, or skill working with numbers and structure. This opportunity is open to anyone interested in the industry but with no formal experience as well as those with years of experience looking for new challenges in a company that values your competency.


To ease training and operational efficiency, we prefer candidates that live in the Bergen area and can work from the office, especially for an entry level position. Some adjustments may be possible to support personal challenges, including working from home or another of our offices.

Job requirements

About the job

After training, the successful candidates will support operations and company strategy while performing the following tasks:

  • Import, export, and transit customs clearance
  • Acting as communication link between customers, internal departments, and customs/tax authorities
  • Accurately registering information in and out of our data systems
  • Checking documentation to ensure it is correct
  • Creating documentation as relevant
  • Coordinating with colleagues, suppliers, and customers by phone and email
  • Cooperating with colleagues at all levels of the organisation to provide quality service
  • Other practical, administrative, and logistics related tasks as you develop in the role
  • Most tasks can be completed during regular work hours; however, as we provide 24/7/365 service, there will be periods of higher workload as well as work during irregular times, such as evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
